As a SEED facilitator for the past 15 years, I've designed dozens of monthly seminar sessions to help participants further their self-understanding, their analyses of social systems, and their commitment to enacting justice and equity. One topic I have taken up in these sessions is Ableism, where I use the work of Riva Lehrer, including the picture of Eli Clare here.

Going to the National Association of Independent Schools People of Color Conference next week in Atlanta, Georgia? Please join SEED Co-director Gail Cruise-Roberson and SEED Staff Member Patricia Matos of Greenwich Country Day School for a session titled "One of Few, Representing Many: The Cognitive Dissonance of People of Color in Independent Schools," and meet fellow SEED leaders and friends for a social gathering.

SEED Founder Peggy McIntosh will be speaking this week at Berea College in Kentucky, part of its inaugural "Dialogue on Race and Education in the 21st Century" conference. Other speakers include bell hooks, Tim Wise, and Saida Grundy.
