SEED is happy to recognize the 30th anniversary of SEED Founding Co-director Emily Style's 1988 essay, "Curriculum as Window & Mirror," and to celebrate SEED staff member, educator, filmmaker, and social justice advocate Willa Cofield's 90th birthday.

On September 29, the Bay Area SEED Network is hosting "Moving Justice Forward," its 4th annual SEED Showcase, an interactive day of learning, self-reflection, and group exercises stimulated by the keynote speakers: Shakti Butler, Ph.D., filmmaker and founder and president of World Trust, and Hugh Vasquez, senior associate with the National Equity Project. Whether you're new to SEED or a long-time participant or leader, we hope you will join us.

Today, we welcome more than 60 participants to the third session of the 32nd year of SEED New Leaders Week. They will spend their time immersed in a variety of SEED materials and methods in preparation for leading their own SEED seminars -- a group of individuals who meet regularly to learn about themselves, interact with each other across identities, and develop strategies for greater equity and diversity in their local settings.
